People may play an equal sum game. That is - they hope to gain as much as life takes away. In a tough market, sell your house for the same cost to buy. In baseball, win as many as you lose. In relationships, receive as much love as you give. The idea seems to be that since life is hard (and it is) the best you could hope for is to break even. But that is not God's idea. This week we will finish the story of Ruth and Naomi. What happens to these two widows who have lost so much? We will find that God does not play an equal sum game.
