We have seen entire cities unite and turn towards a certain cause or celebration. A Stanley Cup pulls a city together in jubilation. A devastating fire can harness the collective hearts of a community to help. So we have seen it happen - but rarely do we see a city unite by turning towards God. We’ve come to the third chapter of Jonah in which Nineveh halts their default ways and looks towards God - the whole city, from King to peasant. This Sunday we will examine a civic repentance and consider what that means for Nanaimo.
