Main Idea: Prayer is a part of a relationship with God.
1. There are misconceptions about prayer.
2. Jesus purchased a relationship for us on the cross - the one that was lost by Adam and Eve. Prayer as a part of this relationship, is a conversation that involves talking and listening.
3. We need to know Who we are relating to.
4. We need to pray the Father’s will.
5. We need to let God guide our praying.
6. Surrender to His Lordship is vital.
7. Give thanks.

1. What are some things that you know about the character of God, and how can these things affect how you converse with Him?
2. What are some scriptures that indicate some things you can pray for?
3. What are some areas that you need to surrender to God?
4. What are some answers to prayer that you can give thanks to God for?

- As a group, take time to ask God what He would have you pray for the group or individuals in the group. What are some of the things that He is laying on your hearts for this?
