Many Christians today pray for “revival,” but have you ever asked what that is? If revival broke out, what would it look like? Should we even be praying for revival? Today we begin a new series answering that very question. We hope it leaves you thinking and open to greater power in your life through Jesus Christ. We start with “A Breakout of Service.”

MESSAGE STUDY NOTES (also as PDF download above)

Have you ever been to a “revival” meeting? What was it like?

Psalm 80:18, 85:6; Ezra 9:9; Exodus 31:1-4; I Corinthians 12:7, 14:12; I Peter 4:10-11; Matthew 25:14-30; Romans 12:6-10, 7:4-6; Ephesians 5:18

Three things to know:
1. The Holy Spirit gives all believers gifts
2. These gifts are not for my personal benefit
3. These gifts are to increase my dependency (not my ego)
Three things to do:
1. Maximize your gift
2. Give credit to each other
3. Help each other

1. Have you ever considered a “revival” as a breakout of service? Why or why not?
2. Why do you think some underuse their gift? Why do you think some overuse their gift?

What are your gifts and do you think you are fulfilling God’s calling in your life? Why or why not?

If you experienced the filling of the Holy Spirit and had “a breakout of service,” what do you think that might look like? Why?
