Nanaimo Alliance Church has joined Ron & Gloria Davidson in the first NAC-sponsored partnership under the umbrella of The Alliance Canada's "New Ventures" ministry, and our own "Kingdom New Ventures" initiative.
WHAT IS NEW VENTURES?
New Ventures supports churches in Canada by helping them start new ministries and church plants. They provide a structured process for discernment and launching. When complete, a Partnership Agreement between New Ventures, the sponsoring church, and the new ministry is drafted. Once a new initiative is underway, New Ventures promotes it nationally and offers a giving URL so supporters across Canada can contribute. Donated funds go to the sponsoring church to help cover the new work's expenses.
NAC and GABRIOLA COMMUNITY VENTURES
Gabriola Community Ventures recently launched on Gabriola Island, BC, a picturesque community of approximately 4,500 residents. Under the co-leadership of Chaplain Gloria Graf Davidson and Ron Davidson, Gabriola Community Ventures has emerged from a deep sense of calling to serve in this distinctive location. Working with the local community church and other Christian agencies, Ron and Gloria approach this opportunity with a spirit of discernment, discovery and service, as they work to minister to the Spiritual needs of this artistic, new-age based community. They've incorporated a new Bible Study for women, the first in many years, ALPHA, as well as outreach through coffee shop chats, music venues, and, coming soon, Complex Trauma Coaching.
NAC partners with Ron & Gloria through prayer and monthly financial support from our Kingdom New Ventures fund. Gloria writes weekly ministry updates for our church e-bulletin, and one Sunday a month they bring NAC a short in-person report. It's been incredible witnessing their journey, hearing how God has provided every step of the way, and how He is moving and changing lives on Gabriola. NAC is excited to be supporting Ron & Gloria as they selflessly give of their time and gifts, shining the light of Jesus boldly in contrast to the deep darkness found amongst the people there.
