This afternoon, in response to increasing COVID-19 cases and the resulting strain on health care capacity, Dr. Bonnie Henry issued a province-wide order that is effective from midnight tonight (November 19) until midnight on December 7th. The order includes restrictions on the following:

Gathering Restrictions – Indoor and outdoor gatherings of any size are prohibited and in-person and drive-in worship services are not allowed. As well, social gatherings of any size with anyone other than your immediate household are not allowed.

Weddings, Funerals, and Baptisms – These are allowed to take place, but are restricted to a limit of 10 people, including the officiant. Receptions of any size or at any location are not allowed.

Wearing Masks – Masks are now mandatory in all public indoor settings and workplaces unless you are eating or drinking.

Workplaces – Workplaces are asked to revisit their COVID-19 safety plans and ensure that they are being implemented. As well, all office-based employers have been asked to support employees working from home until at least the new year.

In light of this new order, effective immediately the Nanaimo Alliance Church building will be closed to all in-person meetings and events until this order is lifted. Connect groups currently meeting in homes are required to postpone or meet virtually at this time.

The church office will remain open regular office hours of Tues-Thurs 9am - 1pm.

Stay safe, everyone!
